Design Features

The car is built on a modular platform of its own design, iQ-AI, like the Jaguar XE/XF of the second generation, as well as the Range Rover Velar. The chassis was also largely borrowed from these models, primarily the double wishbones at the front. However, the rear suspension turned out to be unique for the brand's models - a "multi-link" installed on the Jaguar Integral Link subframe, which distributes the acceleration forces in three projections. This made it possible to more accurately adjust the suspension settings, improving handling and comfort. It is worth noting that most of the chassis components are forged and made of aluminum alloy.

Power Units

The engine lineup is represented by gasoline and diesel engines of the Ingenium family with turbocharging, with a volume of 2 to 5 liters and a power of 160 horsepower. In addition, among the crossover's modifications, there is a "charged" version of the SVR, equipped with a 5-liter V8 with a turbocharger, with which it accelerates to "hundred" in 4.3 seconds. And also, a little less dynamic version with a hybrid power plant, consisting of an in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 2 liters and a 105-kilowatt electric motor. Its total power reaches 404 horsepower. Already in the standard configuration, the car is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF, namely its lightweight version with an increased share of aluminum. The exception is the diesel version of the crossover, in which a 6-speed "automatic" is installed, also developed by ZF.

No less important features distinguish the effectively looking body of the car, the design author of which is Ian Callum. It is made more than 80% of aluminum. Additional weight reduction of the car, the curb weight of which is only 1775 kg, was achieved through the use of composite materials in the rear door, as well as magnesium, used in the manufacture of the stabilizer bar. The remaining 20% falls on the power elements of the "cell" of the body, made of high-strength steel. All this fits into the concept of the crossover, which is essentially a sports car with a strongly pronounced handling and dynamic qualities, which, in turn, largely depend on the tires and wheels.
