Initial version

The car was developed as part of the Emgrand passenger car line, which was done, but only for the markets of South American countries, where it was offered as the Emgrand X7 Sport. This was prevented by the successful sales of the crossover in the domestic market, largely due to its design, developed under the guidance of Peter Horbury. Even after the 2018 restyling, the exterior has hardly changed, retaining its original features. There were many more changes under the hood, where new engines appeared - a turbocharged inline "triple" and "four" with a volume of 1.5 and 1.8 liters, respectively, which replaced the outdated 2.0 and 2.4-liter "atmospheric" engines developed by Mitsubishi in the 80s of the last century.

Second generation

In 2021, the Chinese manufacturer introduced the second-generation car. The crossover differed from its predecessor with a new design, executed in the current corporate style, called Vision Sturburst. This was largely due to the market success of the compact model Coolray, the exterior of which had a lot in common. At the same time, the car technically retained its kinship with the predecessor, retaining the entire line of engines, as well as the transmission. Both engines, depending on the version, work in "pair" with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, or with a 7-range "robot". Throughout both generations, the concept of the car has hardly changed, it has remained a versatile crossover, which greatly simplifies the selection of tires and wheels for it.
