History

The GAC company was founded in 1955 and by 2005 had become one of the largest holding companies in the country. During this period, another company producing all-wheel drive vehicles, Gonow, was also acquired, and a new brand, Trumpchi, was established, with its first model being a sedan based on the Alfa Romeo 166.
