GAC Emkoo debuted in 2022, complementing the lineup of crossovers from the Chinese brand. Key differences

Technically, the car is unified with the GS4 crossover, using the same modular GMPA platform of the Chinese brand's own design and chassis layout with independent rear suspension. The most significant difference, apart from the aggressive exterior design, was the recessed door handles, panoramic roof glazing, and a spoiler on the rear door as standard equipment.

The salon stands out for the presence of an instrument panel screen without a sun visor and a huge display of the multimedia system in the central part of the front console. There are almost no physical buttons and switches on it. Their functionality is "built into" the multimedia system with Adigo OS version 5 "on board". In addition to them, there are a projection screen on the windshield, "atmospheric" contour lighting, and acoustics from Yamaha. One of the unusual solutions is the need to pull the door handle up to open it.

Unlike most "classmates" from other Chinese manufacturers, this crossover is available with a fairly extensive engine range. The base version is offered with a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline "four" and a 7-speed robotic gearbox with a dual clutch. At the "medium" level of equipment, a 2-liter turbo engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission from the Japanese Aisin become available. The top versions are distinguished by a hybrid power plant based on a 2-liter "atmospheric" gasoline engine of the Julang Power family, operating according to the Atkinson cycle, but differing in a much higher compression ratio than most "classmates" - 15.6: 1, which provides it with excellent thermal efficiency - 42%. As a "pair" for this power unit, an electric mechanical variator THS of the fourth iteration from Toyota is used.
