Tyre reviews Nordman 7. Page 6 609

I drove 6 seasons on BF Goodrich g-Force Stud 205/55 R16 and was satisfied. I was particularly pleased with the absence of noise, but the tire was a bit floating... but that's not the point now. It's time to look for new tires... I wanted a grip, confidence, and already knew what kind of tires to pay attention to. In general, I decided to change the size and ordered Nokian Nordman 7. The feeling of controllability, overtaking on snowy slush or crossing a curb at speed, or getting out of a rut and overtaking a car is not a problem for this tire... That's how it recommended itself... I knew what I was buying... I only had doubts about the noise, I was very afraid of helicopter noise... and the shape of the tire was still suitable for it)
In general, what I was afraid of, that's what happened...
But again, in the city, everything is fine, you don't hear it... you don't notice it and don't worry until you drive on the highway, where your lane is broken to bare asphalt... and that's where the helicopter noise starts... it also depends on the coverage, of course... but if it's bad, the noise only increases...
I ended up on New Year's in the Krasnodar region with all its fogs and rains... and it was very uncomfortable for me, like I was driving on studded tires in Africa, everyone turns around when you drive into a quiet village street... and yes... braking on wet asphalt is terrible... it doesn't exist... this tire won't stop you... so you need to drive twice as slow or more carefully...
I also consider the braking on rolled snow to be a problem with this tire...
Of course, the car also plays its part (I'm talking about snow, not wet asphalt)... on snow, the ABS immediately starts making its sound... this was also the case with the Goodrich tires, I thought the new tires would fix it...
To sum it up... for winter, the tire is super... for emergency braking on rolled snow and wet asphalt, there is no confidence in it... and yes, the noise... just because of the noise, I won't buy it again... Goodrich gets the highest rating for noise...
I described my experience specifically on the C3... I had 3 other cars on different tires before that... I have experience...
Oh, and I've been driving on Nokian for the 2nd winter - all the studs are in place - this is my personal record... 5 points to the tire and me!

After using the 5th set, I bought the 7th. They balance perfectly. Not a single stud has been lost during the first winter (16800km) even with cautious driving. Tread depth: 8 mm. Good traction in the snow and on ice. Soft and a bit noisy on asphalt but no chirp. Good manufacturing quality. Used in LO and SPb.

Over the last 8 years, I've been driving on studded tires, but this winter showed that studs are also needed in the city. In the end, great tires - drove 3,500 km, studs are still in place. The tire is comfortable and quiet, and in warm weather, the studs hide inside.

A plus: the tire heats up quickly and starts to hold the road. In a strong snowfall, the rear-wheel drive car handles very well, showed itself well in icy rain again, considering that the car is rear-wheel drive. A minus: the tire is very noisy, and the braking distance has apparently been increased.

Generally everything is fine, but sent three wheels manufactured in 2021 and one in 2018, which they did not notify in advance and I did not notice immediately.

Unlike previous Nordman5s, these still have studs installed.
Deceleration is only mediocre with wheelspin even on asphalt, but no complaints with braking! And in the winter, braking is much more important than acceleration. Tire is very loud.

Excellent tire, it handles straight-line driving, especially braking on any surface, whether it's asphalt or ice. But there's one HUGE minus - it loses traction in turns, and doesn't give any warning if compared to a Continental. You'll feel the slide much earlier, but it's slow and long. In straight-line driving, it brakes better overall. It's really a city tire, not a track tire. I'd take a Continental if the price is right, and from budget options,

Excellent reliable tyres. Quite quiet, completely predictable... Quite durable (my wife drove on a deflated tyre for a distance, and when we stopped to change it, the tyre had been torn by the rim, but not to the belt, so one patch on the hole and we're good to go again). Prior to this, I bought the same tyres on my CRV 1st gen, which is why I liked them in the first place...

I bought the tyres in December.
I dropped the speed to about 60-70 km/h and drove around 800 km to break them in.
The noise dropped sharply after 300 km of this treatment, and all that remained was the sound of the studs scraping against the asphalt.
I'm very happy with Nordman-7.
After 8000 km of driving I didn't lose a single stud.
I'd definitely recommend this tyre to all- Vehicle:
