The development was carried out from "scratch", so the tire externally does not resemble the previous model with the index KU39, surpassing it in most characteristics, including braking distance and coupling on a wet surface.

Improved compound

To a greater extent, the advantage in terms of coupling properties on a wet surface is provided by the physical and chemical properties of the rubber mixture. Its composition includes a number of high-tech materials of the new generation: butadiene-styrene rubber and special polymers, which made it possible to increase the silica content. As a result, the tread literally sticks to the road surface, ignoring its low temperature in the rain.

Another innovation was the tread pattern. Like the previous model, it has an asymmetric directional design, but at the same time provides the tire with much more performance.
