Winter tire for SUVs and crossovers Ikon Character Ice 7 SUV is designed for use in regions with a very cold climate. Previously, it was known as Nordman 7 SUV, a model that has proven itself very well in the most difficult winter conditions, demonstrating stable traction and ease of handling on any slippery surface.

The tread pattern is made in the brand's "signature" design with a characteristic V-shaped arrangement of drainage grooves. An important feature is the presence of numerous intersections between them, which provides improved traction on wet and snowy surfaces. Another distinction of the tread is the use of the "air claw" technology. The front edge of all blocks, where the studs are located, has droplet-shaped holes. These elements give the blocks greater elasticity, improving acoustic comfort and reducing rolling resistance. As for the studs themselves, an shock-absorbing element is also present under them, which softens the contact with the road surface. Their carbide insert in the shape of a 6-sided polygon is oriented with its widest edge perpendicular to the direction of movement, which increases the intensity of acceleration and braking on an icy surface.

Key features of Ikon Character Ice 7 SUV:

- a large number of wide cross-shaped grooves provide excellent traction properties on snowy surfaces;
- a rubber compound optimized with regard to the features of tire operation in regions with a very cold climate

Technologies

Special stud

A characteristic feature of Finnish tires is their unparalleled quality of traction and handling on winter surfaces. The special hexagonal anchor stud allows to dig into the ice, guaranteeing excellent traction.

Bear claw

The special BearClaw technology allows the spikes to be kept in a vertical position without changing direction. Reliable fixation allows braking on any surface.

Chamfered shoulder blocks

A feature of the Nordman 7 winter tire is the beveled shoulder blocks of the tread, which promotes better removal of snow mush and slush from the contact patch.

DSI and WSI technologies

The DSI and WSI systems allow the motorist to monitor safety on snowy roads. The remaining tread depth is displayed in millimeters in descending order, and the winter indicator in the form of a snowflake recommends replacing the tires when they are heavily worn.
