The new model has surpassed its predecessor in most operational properties, thanks to a large number of innovations. In essence, the tire was designed from "scratch".
Saw-toothed central rib
The entire central part of the tread is a very wide solid longitudinal rib. This element has a composite structure, containing a large number of blocks connected by rigid bridges. Their complex polygonal shape and massive size provide the contact patch with numerous and extended faces that prevent longitudinal skidding during acceleration and braking.
Interlocking stepped lamellas
Another important innovation is the stepped lamellas. When in contact with the road surface, they form numerous faces that the tire grips onto the icy surface. The stepped shape of these cuts, as well as their arrangement, in which the blocks deform in a certain way, additionally enhances traction.
Shoulder blocks with sharp side edges
The blocks located in the shoulder zones have a number of original features. One of them is the sharp side edges. They prevent skidding on snow and ice, literally digging into their slippery surface, thereby ensuring additional stability during maneuvering. This effect is further enhanced by the numerous edges formed by the vertical and horizontal grooves.
