The ViaPRO technology is a comprehensive set of technical solutions aimed at improving the basic operational qualities of the tire. One of them is the not very large inclined protrusions located on the sidewalls of the tread blocks, arranged in a specific sequence. With their help, domestic tire manufacturers were able to significantly reduce the level of cavity resonance, which is the main source of hum and noise that occurs during movement.
The next component of the ViaPRO technology is the sidewall with variable stiffness. Depending on the characteristics of the road surface, the sidewall changes its stiffness, which made it possible to give the handling reliability and stability, regardless of the type of surface.
The symmetrical non-directional tread pattern of the Viatti Vettore Inverno is distinguished by the presence of a large number of massive blocks, which form two longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread and two shoulder zones. In addition, in the very center of the tread, there is another longitudinal rib, which has a solid design, giving it a high degree of stiffness.
The massive size of the blocks allows for a more even distribution of the external load over the entire surface of the contact patch, which makes the tread wear evenly. In addition, the large tread blocks contribute to an increase in its area, which, in turn, provides the tire with good traction on dry surfaces.
It is also worth noting the adaptability of the tread pattern to uncleared snow roads. This is facilitated not only by the large depth of the tread pattern but also by the large distance between the blocks. As a result, the tread perfectly removes heavy snow masses, which provides excellent cross-country ability, both in deep snow and on thawed dirt roads.
It is also worth noting the reinforced design of the shoulder zones, which made it possible to significantly improve handling and directional stability when driving on both dry and wet roads.
ViaMIX
As you know, the rubber compound of the tire is one of its most important components, determining almost all of its basic operational characteristics. The key feature of the rubber compound used in the Viatti Inverno model is its ability to change elasticity depending on the ambient temperature. This was achieved thanks to the ViaMIX technology, which involves the use of special polymers. As the temperature rises, the rubber compound becomes more rigid, and as it drops, it becomes softer. Due to this, the tire was able to acquire optimal characteristics in any weather conditions, as well as reduce its susceptibility to wear.
Wavy lamellas and studs
To ensure a high level of safety when driving on icy surfaces, the company's specialists used an excellent combination of wavy lamellas and a large number of studs.
Wavy lamellas, when in contact with the road surface, form a multitude of sharp edges of grip, which, penetrating the water film, cling even to the smallest irregularities. At the same time, due to the wavy shape, their walls are very tightly closed between themselves, which allows for a significant increase in the stiffness of the tread blocks. As a result, it was possible to significantly improve handling on dry asphalt.
As for the studs, their location is distinguished by evenness, which ensures stable and reliable traction with the icy surface. The high grip characteristics on ice can be judged by the number of rows formed by the studs - there are 14 of them in total.
