Model D

In 2006, the "supermini" with the D index premiered. The car was developed on the same platform as the Fiat Grande Punto, differing from it by a shorter length of 31 mm. But compared to the predecessor, the model became much larger, barely inferior to the Astra H. The similarity was further enhanced by the design, which was largely similar to this car, especially in its "sporty" version GTC. In terms of mechanical components, the model has not changed significantly. The engine range was almost completely borrowed from the previous generation, although diesel engines were modernized, as a result of which they became a little more powerful and economical. In early 2007, the brand introduced the "charged" VXR version with a turbocharged "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters, developing 192 horsepower.

Model E

In 2014, the model with the E index appeared. The car used the same platform as its predecessor, however, the body design was significantly changed, preserving only the roof in its previous form. Similarly, the suspension was revised. In the engine range, the key innovation was the appearance of a 3-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 1 liter. The turbocharged power unit was available in two versions, with the same torque of 170 Nm, differing in different power - 90 or 115 horsepower. In the standard configuration, the engines worked in pair with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and in more equipped versions, a 6-range "automatic" was used instead.

Model F

In the second half of 2017, the manufacturer introduced the current generation car. Initially, its development was carried out using the GM platform, but after the purchase of Opel and Vauxhall by the Stellantis corporation, everything had to be started from scratch. The second option uses the CMP platform of the French PSA, which led to cardinal changes in the list of available components. First of all, this is the engine range, consisting of a 3-cylinder gasoline and 4-cylinder diesel engine, which, like the platform, were developed in Peugeot/Citroen. In December 2018, modifications with an electric power unit appeared in the line, which was borrowed from the Peugeot e-208, which turned the "supermini" into a fairly dynamic car with acceleration to "hundred" in 8.1 seconds. A distinctive feature of this version is the use of a 1-speed planetary transmission. At the same time, the power reserve, despite the compact size, is an impressive 330 km. The car, due to the right-hand drive, cannot be called popular in our country, however, this disadvantage is not inherent in the original version of this model from Opel, which can be quite often found on the roads, especially the first few generations.
