In 1995, the production of a new generation began, which was developed by the company independently. The platform from the second generation was taken as the basis, which underwent significant processing. However, there were elements that remained unchanged - some parts of the suspension, steering. In 2000, the company was absorbed by BMW, which was reflected in the change of name of the entire model range. Therefore, the 200 series ceased to exist, and the Rover 25 appeared on the market.
