In December 2005, the first passenger car of its own design, the 520 sedan with a Brazilian Tritec engine, was launched into series production. Significant investments were needed for the further development of the company, for which an IPO was conducted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange at the end of the year. A year later, after the launch of a line of compact passenger cars and a crossover into production, the company reported revenue of $1.83 billion and a profit of $62 million. Its development in the motorcycle segment was no less intense. In 2014, it became a partner of the Italian MV Agusta, becoming the only distributor of bikes of this brand in China, retaining this status to this day. Nevertheless, this did not save the manufacturer from financial problems. In June 2019, Lifan's debt to investors and shareholders reached $4.4 billion. At the end of 2021, this led to the absorption of the company by the Chinese automotive giant Geely, which received the opportunity to significantly increase its presence in southwest China, where Lifan had previously occupied a dominant position in the market for compact passenger cars. In addition, a joint venture was established to produce electric vehicles, which are sold under the Maple brand.

Models
