Introduced in April 2016, the compact five-door crossover Lifan Myway became a notable attempt by the Chinese company of the same name to establish itself on the international arena. The declared fuel consumption for the 1.5 and 1.8 modifications was 7.6 and 7.9 liters per 100 km, respectively, and the total fuel tank capacity was 50 liters.

In 2018, seeking to keep up with the global trend, Lifan introduced an electric version of the crossover in China under the index EV400. This modification differed significantly from its gasoline-powered counterparts. Its heart was an electric motor with a power of 136 hp, instantly delivering an impressive torque of 280 N-m. However, despite the high torque, the design was focused on urban operation: the maximum speed of the electric crossover was limited to 100 km/h. The key element was a lithium-ion traction battery with a capacity of 60.4 kW-h, which, according to the manufacturer, provided a range of up to 405 kilometers on a single charge.

Thus, the history of the model is a short but intense stage in the development of the Chinese automotive industry, where proven but not the most modern gasoline technologies and an ambitious step towards electrification coexisted on a single platform. Despite being discontinued, this crossover remained in memory as one of the affordable offerings of its time, demonstrating characteristic approaches to constructing budget cars for the global market.
