Шины на Great Wall Hover (Греат Валл)

The Great Wall Hover off-road vehicle has long been one of the most recognizable Chinese models in its segment. It didn't chase status, didn't try to pretend to be premium, but won over others with its honest frame construction, simple but durable units, and an understandable character of a car created primarily for daily trips on broken roads and rare off-road excursions.

Basic Features

Externally, the Hover easily evokes associations not only with the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 90 series or the first Mitsubishi Pajero Sport but also with the Isuzu Trooper of the second generation. The Hover has the same almost square body architecture, emphasized wheel arches, and a distinctive vertical "profile" of the front, which creates the feeling that you are facing a car from an era when off-road vehicles were built primarily for work, not for beauty. The Trooper is often called one of the most honest "Japanese" of its time, and the Hover, although Chinese, has inherited its attitude in some way - practicality without showy gloss. The seating in the cabin is also slightly reminiscent of the Trooper: high, straight, with an open view forward and a convenient geometry of the seats. The interior is simpler and less varied, but the philosophical approach is noticeably similar: to work for years, not to annoy the owner with extra details, and to withstand operation in harsh conditions.

Technologies

The frame architecture is especially close to the Isuzu Trooper: similar frame proportions, similar logic of placing power elements, and overall "rough" but reliable engineering. The front independent suspension on double levers makes the Hover a relative of both the Prado 90 and the Trooper, which also used a similar design. The rear non-split axle on springs is a classic of the genre, allowing it to withstand real loads without whims and complex adjustments.

In terms of engine settings, the model is reminiscent of the "atmospheric" petrol engines of the Trooper: not powerful, but reliable, designed for long service, without a large number of electronic systems. And the principle of operation of the all-wheel drive is also from that school: a connectable front axle, honest "reduction", a minimum of electronic assistants, a maximum of mechanics, like the Japanese of the late 90s.

The high-profile tires with a rim diameter of 16 and 17 inches, which the Hover uses by default, almost directly echo the approach of Isuzu, where they also bet on increasing the ground clearance due to the wheels, graders, and rigid soil. In combination with the frame and heavy body, this gives the Hover a similar "Trooper-like" feeling of soft, measured suspension work on unevenness.
