Great Wall Hover H3 – a compact SUV that was introduced by the manufacturer in 2005. A year later, it began to be supplied to European markets and a number of other countries. During its existence, it has undergone several stages of modernization and was replaced by the H5 model in 2020.Technical specifications
The model is based on a frame structure that provides a high level of rigidity. The connectable all-wheel drive (mainly rear) and the presence of a reduction gear allow the model to be used not only in urban conditions but also on light off-road. The front suspension is fully independent with a torsion structure, supplemented by double wishbones. The rear suspension is dependent, with longitudinal levers. Due to this design, improved resistance to mechanical stress has been achieved.The power units are represented by two petrol engines with a capacity of 2.0 and 2.4 liters, which are combined with a manual transmission. Diesel options are represented by a 2.8 turbocharged engine with a manual transmission and a 2.5-liter engine with an automatic transmission. Note that all engines met the Euro-4 standards.
The basic configuration includes climate control, power steering, multimedia, ABS, electric mirrors and windows, fog lights, heated front seats, and parking sensors. On the front panel, there is a screen through which you can monitor the main parameters and control many systems. Optionally, a rearview camera, differential lock, and sunroof were installed.
Production in Russia
At the initial stage, the car was supplied from Chinese factories, and then assembly was organized in the city of Gzhel (Russia). Moreover, all welding work was carried out in Cherkessk, and later in Lipetsk. This factor, as well as the high reliability of the model, in combination with its driving characteristics and competitive price, made the car quite popular in the country.
