The Yokohama Apex V601 summer tire belongs to the Ultra High Performance category, being designed for the most dynamic passenger cars. It is distinguished by uncompromising grip at high speeds, sporty precise handling and stability in turns, increased strength and reliability in extreme load conditions.
Even at very high speeds, the tire is characterized by precision accuracy of control. This is due to several technical solutions at once. First of all, the reinforced design of the sidewalls, which have increased resistance to deformation. In the central part of the tread pattern, there is a wide and very rigid longitudinal rib, which increases directional stability and ensures fast and precise reactions of the tire to the driver's actions.
Another important feature is the tire's ability to retain a significant part of its gripping properties on wet surfaces. This is largely due to the use of two compounds in the production of the tread. The outer side of the tread is made of an elastic rubber mixture with a high content of "silica" at low temperatures. The tread pattern contains three wide longitudinal grooves in the central part, as well as one additional groove on the very edge of the outer shoulder zone.
