Yokohama tires in a new video series Gymkhana
The first Gymkhana video was released in 2008 and immediately made Ken Block a star thanks to a combination of impressive footage and masterful car handling. In 2023, Block died in a tragic snowmobile accident, and his long-time friend Travis Pastrana took over the continuation of the series, and the other day, a new video was released, partnered by Yokohama.

Pastrana got behind the wheel of a 670-horsepower all-wheel-drive 1978 Subaru Brat, equipped with a turbocharger and nicknamed Brataroo. For Pastrana, this is already the third Gymkhana video, and it features many Australian landmarks, such as Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, bridges in Sydney and Bathurst, Broken Hill, and footage from the outback, which is commonly referred to as the "outback".
The video used tires from two models: Yokohama ADVAN Apex UHP class, designed for use on both racing tracks and public roads; as well as ADVAN A052 Extreme Performance category, created to maximize performance in sports competitions, but also suitable for use outside the track.
"Australia has long been one of the top contenders for a filming location," said Brian Scotto, director of 321 Action Action and co-founder of Hoonigan. - Ken Block and I tried to shoot "Gymkhana 9" there, but we got a categorical rejection due to the existing laws against hooliganism at the time. ... This combination of an unfulfilled goal we had and the fact that this is Pastrana's last video in the series not only makes it special for me, but also made us push the boundaries of what we can do both behind the wheel and behind the camera."
