WestLake RP09 – a summer tire belonging to the budget class, but distinguished by the effectiveness of its working properties. This is largely ensured by a competently modeled tread with reverse symmetry, as well as the use of a modern compound.
The basis of the tire is a compound with silica, which made it possible to significantly improve many of the tread's working characteristics. In particular, the resistance to wear was improved by increasing the density of the rubber mixture. Also, the heat resistance has been increased. In combination with the developed system of channels, it provides more effective dissipation of thermal energy and maintains the optimal level of elasticity of the tread blocks. This has been reflected in the traction properties, including those in conditions of long trips on highways.
The tread has a fairly large area that remains unchanged even under intense loads. This is largely due to the more rigid sidewalls, which neutralize the deformation effect. In the central part, the tread contains two solid ribs, supplemented by segmented blocks of a ring type. On the one hand, they provide directional stability and handling responsiveness, and on the other hand, they maintain traction, including on wet roads.
To improve the efficiency of driving on wet asphalt, a drainage system with three deep central channels is provided. With its help, moisture collection and maintenance of dense contact of the entire contact zone are realized.
