Tread with functional zones
South Korean tire manufacturers have developed a tread for this model with an asymmetric design that contains three functional zones. With different characteristics, they interact with each other, complementing and enhancing various operational properties.
Shoulder zone on the outside
This part of the tread contains elongated transverse blocks. There are special bridges between them. This improves traction when turning, and also creates a feeling for the driver of absolute control over the car due to fast and accurate reactions to his actions.
Shoulder zone on the inside
The blocks located here also have a rigid mechanical connection with each other through bridges. They differ from similar elements on the opposite side of the tread with fine lamellas. They increase the coupling properties on wet coatings, interacting with a number of drainage grooves located nearby.
Central part
This functional zone is represented by three longitudinal ribs with numerous lamellas and grooves that increase traction on wet roads. These elements are cut to different depths, which increases the resistance of the ribs to deformation changes. In turn, these tread elements provide much better stable behavior of the car, especially at high speeds.
