For the most part, due to this reason, the subsequent restyling in 2003 affected, first of all, the design of the front part, where other radiator grilles, headlights and bumpers appeared. Despite the technical proximity to the Mercedes E-Class, this sedan was equipped much better than most of its versions. The standard equipment included cup holders with heating and cooling, a stability control system and traction control, "light and rain" sensors. The engine range started with an in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 2.3 liters and a power of 150 hp. The largest part of sales fell on 6-cylinder versions, which developed from 197 to 279 hp, which were also licensed copies of Mercedes engines.

Second Generation

In 2008, a car of the next generation was presented. It was created on the basis of the WZ concept shown a year earlier. The sedan was available in six trim levels, plus an extended version with an increased wheelbase of 3270 mm. As before, the platform and technical components from Mercedes were used in it, in particular, from business sedans with the indices W211, W219, W220, including the 4Matic all-wheel drive system, along with the 7G-Tronic transmission and engines, among which was the legendary M133 - a V-shaped 8-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 5 liters. In addition to them, an electronically controlled pneumatic suspension with a self-leveling function was taken from the arsenal of the German brand, which was the prerogative of the extended version exclusively. In the fall of 2017, the North American brand announced the termination of serial production of this sedan, preferring to focus on the segment of crossovers and SUVs.
