Proton X70 – a mid-size crossover that has been produced by the Malaysian company since 2018. The model is a complete copy of Geely Boyue, with minor technical changes (such as left-hand drive).

Exterior

Despite the fact that the car is a complete copy of the Chinese crossover, it has distinctive external features. Firstly, it is the radiator grille, which is made in the style of national Malaysian woodcarving with numerous chrome elements. Technical features

It is worth noting that until 2019, the car was supplied to the country exclusively in assembled form from China. Later, its large-scale assembly was established at a local production facility. From there, it began to be imported to many countries of the world.

Under the hood, a 1.8-liter engine is installed, which is supplemented by a turbocharger. It produces 182 horsepower and 285 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed "automatic" transmission of the classic type. Starting from 2020, the car began to be equipped with a 7-speed "robot" with a dual clutch, which provided faster acceleration and less delay between gear shifts.

In 2022, the manufacturer made some changes to the structure of the crossover, which affected its exterior design. The range of engines was also expanded - a 1.5-liter turbocharged version appeared, which was installed on simpler configurations. For luxury versions, the previous 1.8-liter engine was retained.
