The Acura Integra was present in the production range of the Japanese brand twice. For the first time, the model debuted in 1989, representing a 3-door liftback and a sedan, being intended, like other cars of the brand, primarily for the North American market, where it was available until 2001. The car presented in 1989 was technically a copy of the same-name model from Honda, which had changed generations by that time. It was available in two body types - a 3-door liftback and a 4-door sedan. The car differed from the "global" version, first of all, by the engine - an in-line petrol "four" with a volume of 1.8 liters and a power of 130 horsepower, which was the prerogative of the most expensive trim levels of the model offered under the Honda brand. Initially, it was available in three trim levels with the possibility of choosing between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-range "automatic". In 1992, the Japanese brand offered a GS-R version, which was only available in the liftback body, with a more powerful 160-horsepower engine with a volume of 1.7 liters and a 5-speed "mechanics" with shorter gears.Second iteration
In 1993, the car of the next generation debuted. It differed from its predecessor by a redesigned front end with narrowed double headlight blocks and a wedge-shaped silhouette. As before, the model received a more powerful engine than its "global" analogue from Honda - a modified 1.8-liter engine with different pistons and a higher compression ratio. The base version was called LS, an abbreviation composed of the first letters of the words Luxury Sport. It was available in both body types, differing in leather trim of the steering wheel and transmission control lever. The more expensive SE (Special Edition) version became available from 1995, offering natural leather upholstery, a spoiler on the rear edge of the trunk, and cast wheels. The top version of the GS-R stood out with a stereo system with 6 speakers, an electric sunroof, and an engine - an in-line 1.8-liter "four" that developed 170 horsepower and 174 Nm of torque. In this form, the car existed until 2001, after which it was discontinued, and its successor was the 3-door coupe RSX.Reborn model
In 2021, the model was returned to the brand's production range after a little over two decades of absence. The car was created on the basis of the Honda Civic of the 11th generation, having similar dimensions and an identical wheelbase of 2736 mm. The key difference was the body type - a 5-door liftback, like the predecessors from the 1990s. The concept of the car remained similar - attractive, first of all, to those who value dynamics and handling. Already in the "base" version, a fully independent suspension with "sports" settings is available. As an additional option, electronically controlled shock absorbers are offered. Under the hood is an in-line petrol "four" with a turbocharger and a volume of 1.5 liters from the Civic Si, which is one step below the "charged" Type R. It develops 203 horsepower and 260 Nm, working in a "pair" with a variator with imitation of mechanical switching and "petals" located under the steering wheel. For the A-Spec version, a 6-speed manual transmission is available for order, complete with a differential with increased friction.Unlike the body, the salon is practically completely identical to the Civic. The same front console with a 10.25-inch display of the instrument panel, a screen of the multimedia system located above it, and a climate control panel with original joysticks are used here. Perhaps the only difference was a decorative plastic trim, along with more expensive trim materials. Much more changes were made to the equipment. In the initial trim version, there are electric adjustments of the driver's seat, a sunroof, and a complex of electronic driver assistance systems AcuraWatch. The list of additional equipment stands out with a projection screen on the windshield and a 16-channel ELS Studio 3D acoustics.
