The Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUV is one of the latest developments from the widely known Dutch manufacturer in our country. This novelty is designed for a very wide range of high-performance vehicles, from crossovers to heavy off-road vehicles. The size range includes 17 sizes with wheel diameters from 16 to 19 inches. At the same time, it is worth noting the fairly high speed indices assigned to this tire - H or V (depending on the size).
Optimized tread pattern
The Dutch tire manufacturers faced a rather difficult task of providing stable and reliable traction on various types of surfaces. That's why they chose to equip this model with a tread featuring an asymmetrical directional pattern.
One side of the pattern is located on the inside of the tread and features numerous traction edges formed by multiple tread blocks and wavy lamellas on their surface. The combination of massive block sizes with lamellas gave this part of the tread high stiffness, which had a very positive effect on handling when driving on dry and clean surfaces. At the same time, the numerous sharp edges provide reliable and stable traction on the road.
The outside of the Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUV tread features a series of separate rectangular blocks. They are distinguished not only by their very large size but also by the presence of small grooves located at a sharp angle to the direction of movement. Such blocks have very high structural rigidity, which largely determined the excellent stability when cornering. In addition, the numerous traction edges formed by these blocks made it possible to significantly improve braking efficiency.
Self-cleaning tread
It is also worth noting the thoughtfulness of the drainage system. Since the tire is designed for high-performance vehicles that occasionally leave roads with solid surfaces, the company's specialists paid a lot of attention to ensuring high passability. To a large extent, it is precisely because of this that the tread pattern contains so many separate blocks. The block structure of the tread made it possible to create a very developed system of drainage channels, which, thanks to their large size, easily cope with the removal of not only water but also dirt from the contact patch. The excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread allowed the tire to demonstrate confident behavior when overcoming sandy and muddy areas. As for driving on ordinary roads, in rainy weather, the tire allows you to move at a very high speed without fear of aquaplaning.
Reinforced carcass
This tire is a modified version of another model of the company, Quatrac 3, which is designed exclusively for passenger cars. In addition to the expanded tread pattern, significant changes were made to the carcass design, which was significantly strengthened. It has an additional layer of viscose cord and a steel breaker. This allowed the tire to withstand the increased weight of high-performance vehicles without any problems.
