Being one of the flagship models, the summer tire Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is distinguished by very high technical characteristics, corresponding to the operational properties of passenger cars for which it is intended. These are their most powerful and high-speed modifications, the manufacturers of which impose quite stringent requirements on tires. They are met thanks to the use of the most modern technologies and materials.

Refined handling and lightning-fast reactions to driver actions
One of such innovations applied in the design of this tire is the Dynamic Response technology. It represents a whole complex of technical solutions aimed at ensuring refined handling and ultra-fast reactions to steering wheel turns. In particular, the French tire makers applied a "hybrid" carcass, the multilayer structure of which is made from various materials - aramid and nylon fibers. They give the tire increased resistance to dynamic deformations.

In addition, the tread profile, as well as the design of its pattern, are designed in such a way that the size and shape of the contact patch do not change under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces. As a result, the stability of the coupling properties is ensured, which has a positive effect on handling - the behavior of the car becomes reliable and predictable.

Improved grip on a wet road

No less extensive complex of technical solutions was used to ensure maximum grip on a wet road. The tread rubber compound includes so-called "functional elastomers". Special polymer compounds provide the tread with increased tensile strength, which, in combination with an increased silica content, provides the tire with excellent grip on a cold, wet road. At the same time, wide longitudinal drainage grooves prevent the occurrence of aquaplaning even at high speeds.

Dynamic Response Technology

The Dynamic Response technology* features an additional layer in the tire's construction, made from ultra-strong aramid-nylon threads. This solution enables the tire to counteract the effects of centrifugal force and ensures stability of the tire's contact patch at ultra-high speeds**. * Dynamic Response. ** Michelin strongly recommends following traffic rules and speed limits set by the current legislation.

Increased tire safety

To improve the tire's traction properties, "functional elastomers" of a new generation were used in the rubber compound, which can take the shape of the smallest irregularities of the road surface, providing an excellent level of grip on wet pavement.

New modern tread design

Effective water drainage

Effective water evacuation from the contact patch is ensured by deep longitudinal drainage channels, which help reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
