The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tire is specifically designed for high-performance passenger vehicles that can be used on both closed racing tracks and public roads. When creating this model, the main emphasis was placed on achieving maximum stability and handling at high speeds. This manufacturer is extremely popular and is known for its innovative solutions, which it uses when creating tires. The development of this model used the best materials and technical achievements of the tire industry. As a result, the tire differs in stability and handling at any speed. This was achieved through the application of a new tread pattern and an updated compound.

New Tread Pattern

The new tread pattern has an expanded profile. Due to this, it was possible to increase stability at high speeds. Two rows of central wide blocks provide confident directional stability and accelerated feedback. Wide blocks in the shoulder area increase stability during turns, perfectly protecting the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire from various damages. Deep channels in the center of the tread quickly remove water from the contact area, minimizing aquaplaning. The increased number of lamellas reduces noise while driving and creates an "adhesion" effect on a wet road surface. Even in heavy rain and at high speed, the tire differs in excellent stability and handling.

Updated Compound

When creating the compound, a large number of new components were used, and the percentage composition of old additives was also changed. Since the tire is often used at increased speeds, its elasticity was increased. For this, new silica was used, which also allowed to accelerate the recovery characteristics of the tread, which not only reduced the load on the suspension elements but also increased the comfort of the ride. The updated rubber mixture has excellent wear resistance, even when used at maximum speeds, it has a long service life.

High-Strength Carcass

Since the tire is subjected to increased loads when moving at high speeds, a special high-strength carcass is used in this model. When creating it, a new strong cord and special steel belts were used, which prevent the tread from rupturing in case of overloads.
