The company Michelin has developed exclusive tires for the new hypercar Ferrari F80, which is capable of producing 1200 horsepower and will be released in a limited edition of 799 units priced from 3.6 million euros.

At Michelin, they say that the new tires with the K1 marking (indicating that the tires were created for Ferrari) were "inspired" by the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R model, but considering the exceptional characteristics of the new hypercar, the company's engineers developed the tires from scratch, "pushing the boundaries of what is possible" in terms of performance on dry pavement.

The resulting Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R K1 tires are called by the company "the best tires Michelin has ever developed for Ferrari". The development process took only 15 months, and rubber compounds made using technologies from motorsport were used, which, according to the automaker, "provided previously unimaginable characteristics for a road-going Ferrari in terms of both maximum grip and its stability over time".

In addition, the widest tires ever made by Michelin for car manufacturers were created for the F80, with "classic" size 285/30 R20 tires installed on the front axle and size 345/30 R21 tires, reserved for supercars, installed on the rear axle. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, more oriented towards everyday use, will also be available.

In the production of tires, Michelin's developed simulation systems are used, which allow for the simulation of the most extreme situations, and the company says that "patented and encrypted algorithms are the most advanced in the world". In addition, Michelin is also developing a virtual design program to optimize its production processes.

The tires for the F80 are made using the exclusive C3M technology, which, according to Michelin, is unique in the tire industry and allows for the placement of tire components with an accuracy of 0.1 mm.
