Description Continental ContiCrossContact AT
The universal passenger tire Continental ContiCrossContact AT, produced by one of the recognized world leaders in the tire industry, will perfectly suit most modern high-performance vehicles. This model is addressed to car owners who spend as much time off-road as on the highway. This is indicated by the "AT" prefix in the name, meaning "All terrain", as well as the M+S index. The tire is produced in 19 sizes, ranging from 15 to 18 inches.
The design of the non-directional symmetric tread pattern also clearly testifies to the versatility of this model. The tread pattern is equipped with three longitudinal ribs consisting of numerous individual blocks, as well as two shoulder zones, representing two additional rows of powerful blocks. A distinctive feature of the blocks is their polygonal shape, calculated using computer modeling tools, as well as the presence of self-locking lamellas on their surface, which are designed to further increase the stiffness of the blocks. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent acceleration and braking efficiency even in very unfavorable road conditions.
It is also worth noting the uncharacteristic for this category of tires resistance to aquaplaning, which is provided by a carefully thought-out drainage system design. The wide transverse channels of the Continental ContiCrossContact AT ensure rapid water removal from the contact patch through the shoulder zones of the tread.
Another uncharacteristic feature of this model is a high level of comfort, which is not expected from an off-road tire. This ability was made possible by the shape of the tread blocks and their checkerboard arrangement in relation to each other.
Main features of the Continental ContiCrossContact AT tire
- high level of performance when driving on any type of surface is provided by the unique design of the symmetric non-directional tread pattern;
- bidirectional arrangement of tread blocks provides the same traction and grip characteristics in both directions of movement;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning due to the high efficiency of the tire's drainage system;
- phenomenal for an off-road tire level of comfort, provided by the shape and arrangement of all tread blocks.
