BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2
If passenger tires from the North American company BFGoodrich are not particularly popular, then their analogs for SUVs are often called "classics of the genre" and "legendary". These epithets will certainly be applied to the All Terrain T/A KO2 model, which has recently appeared in the manufacturer's assortment. Its distinctive feature is not the versatility of application, but the technical solutions that ensure this. Most of them were "borrowed" from professional off-road tires. But, unlike them, this model is well adapted for operation on highways, where it demonstrates good performance. However, its strongest sides are still manifested outside the paved roads.
Reinforced sidewall construction
Like the previous generation tire, this model is equipped with reinforced sidewalls. But in this case, their stiffness has been further increased thanks to the use of CoreGuard technology, which has previously proven itself on racing tires. Its essence lies in the increased thickness of the sidewalls and the use of a special compound in their manufacture, characterized by increased resistance to any mechanical impact.
Extended service life even off-road
As you know, one of the "trademark" features of BFGoodrich off-road tires is excellent durability even in the most severe operating conditions. This model is not only no exception to this rule but also manifests this property more vividly. This was achieved through several technical solutions. One of them was a significant increase in the tread width, which allows the load on the contact patch to be distributed more evenly, thereby reducing the likelihood of uneven wear. This feature is further enhanced by the optimized shape, size, and arrangement of the blocks. Additionally, special elements in the grooves between them prevent stones from getting stuck, which also contributes to the increased service life of the tire.
Excellent traction properties on any surface
The tread pattern of this tire is replete with numerous blocks that have a complex configuration to achieve excellent performance on any type of surface. The significant height of these elements and their spaced arrangement improve traction characteristics on wet earth surfaces.
In turn, the aggressive design of the shoulder areas, part of which is located on the sidewalls, provides the tire with confident behavior on rocky surfaces. Additionally, the arrangement of blocks in a checkerboard pattern and numerous 3D lamellas allow the tire to demonstrate good grip on icy and snowy roads.
Key features of the BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tire
- Reinforced sidewalls made of a compound resistant to mechanical stress provide reliable protection off-road;
- a long service life and reliability even in the most severe operating conditions are ensured by a very robust carcass, wear-resistant rubber compound, and increased tread width;
- excellent performance on any type of surface is provided by an optimized open design featuring a large number of polygonal blocks arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
Technologies

2. Unique massive blocks located in the shoulder area and extending to the sidewall of the tire counteract damage to the most vulnerable areas.

2. The water drainage channels of the tire tread feature special elements that prevent small stones from getting stuck in the tread thickness.
3. The optimal distribution of pressure in the contact patch ensures a long and even tire wear on asphalt surfaces.

2. Additional separators between blocks prevent the "mud clogging" effect of the tread.
3. Additional block walls in the shoulder area improve traction on rocky and muddy surfaces, especially when driving at low pressure.

There are two versions of this tire: LT (triple ply, most common) and standard (double layer ply), differing in the index of the maximum permissible load.
I have experience using LT. It is stronger, harder to puncture, but it is heavy (20-30% heavier than class A/T competitors; in my case 24 kg against 18-20 kg) and stiff. On standard SUVs (not pickups fully loaded) tire pressure on the

I took the tyres for the summer. Size 265/70/17. They've covered 70,000 km out of a total 110,000 km mileage. Wear is at 60-70%. It's the fourth season and it seems I'll be able to get through the whole thing. Noise level on the pickup is a relative term, and for me, there's no noise. The tyres are a bit wider than standard ones, so I've added 1L to the

History: Previously, I used tires of this model from the previous generation. I bought them on the *Znamensky* auto market in Irkutsk. Since I didn't understand the markings, I was deceived by the seller. Therefore, I drove on tires from 1984, 1994, 2004, and 2014 production years. I immediately noticed that they were poorly balanced (due to heavy loads). Nevertheless, they performed well: they got clogged with
