Tires on Tata Safari (Тата)

Tata Safari – a mid-size SUV that was introduced by the Indian manufacturer in 1998. Initially, the model was focused on the domestic market, but in 1999, after a series of modifications, it became available in the European region. The main feature was the low cost, combined with a good set of off-road options.

Generation 1

The basis for the SUV was the universal Tata X2 platform, which received a reinforced rear axle. The car received a three-row cabin, where the last row could be folded to obtain more space in the luggage compartment. At the initial stage, the power unit was a turbocharged diesel engine with a volume of 2 liters from "Peugeot". Its power rating was 87 hp. It worked in pair with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Four-wheel drive was also available, significantly expanding the off-road capabilities of the vehicle. Note that for the European region, the car received a number of upgrades, the main one being the allocation of the bumper and side skirts in a different color.

In 2003, the SUV received a new gasoline engine. The 2.1-liter atmospheric unit produced 135 hp. However, after 2 years, its production was discontinued due to low consumer demand. During the same period, a 3-liter diesel engine developed on the basis of the "Mercedes" engine was introduced. It was equipped with a direct fuel injection system (first used by Indian manufacturers) and produced 116 hp. In 2007, for the European region, it was replaced by an analogue with a volume of 2.2 liters and 140 hp, and for some other countries, it was supplied unchanged for many years. Despite its large volume and low power, it was distinguished by reliability and ease of repair.

Throughout its existence, the first generation underwent regular modernization, which affected both power units and exterior, as well as interior. So, in 2010, an updated chrome-plated radiator grille appeared, new body colors, a modern instrument panel was installed in the cabin, and wooden inserts appeared in the trim.

Generation 2

In 2021, a new generation was presented, which is now represented by a set of modern systems. The crossover received a basic front-wheel drive, as well as the possibility of installing a full drive. In the engine compartment, only one unit is installed - a turbocharged diesel engine with a volume of 2 liters, which is also present in the equipment of the "Jeep Compass". It is paired with a 6-speed "mechanics" or an automatic transmission.

The car received a maximum rating of 5 stars in Global NCAP, both for adults and children.
As for the distribution of the model in the Russian Federation, we have a small fleet of crossovers, which can be serviced using the services of the "Mosavtoshina" online store. Here is a wide range of rubber kits, as well as high-quality cast wheels.
