The Ram V1000 pickup made its debut in the lineup of the North American brand in the fall of 2018. The car is a copy of the Fiat Toro of 2016, and like it, it is produced on the same assembly line in the Brazilian city of Goiana, being intended exclusively for South American countries.

Like the original model, the pickup is built on the Jeep Renegade platform, sharing with it a significant part of the mechanical components. Another difference from most crossovers is the increased ground clearance of up to 207 mm.

Perhaps the only key feature of the pickup was the absence of a large number of modifications, like the Fiat Toro. Only one remained, the simplest, which differs in the use of the least powerful engine - an in-line bi-fuel "four" with a volume of 1.8 liters of the E.Torq family, developing 135 hp. The power unit is combined exclusively with a 6-speed hydromechanical "automatic" from Aisin and front-wheel drive. This significantly limits the functionality of the pickup, which is designed to carry a cargo weighing up to 650 kg, versus almost one ton for more powerful versions with Italian brand badges.

Updated version

In 2021, the pickup underwent a fairly large-scale modernization, which affected, first of all, the exterior, making it more consistent with the corporate style of the North American brand. The car got a new hood with a characteristic recess in the middle, a radiator grille, and a different front bumper with rectangular inserts for fog lights. In the most expensive versions, the pickup even got a radiator grille painted in black with the brand name integrated into it. The design of the interior also underwent a significant revision. In particular, a new, more massive front console appeared, as well as a large number of niches and containers for storing small items with a total volume of 26 liters. Already in the standard equipment, the instrument panel is made in the form of a 7-inch diagonal display. The most expensive trim levels offer a vertically oriented multimedia system screen with a diagonal of 10.1 inches. The software used in it divides the image into several working areas with different functionality. Among other innovations, it is worth noting the appearance of a complex of electronic assistants, including a system for monitoring road markings and automatic braking. Despite the body type and significant ground clearance, this pickup is designed for use primarily on paved roads and solid and medium-hard ground surfaces.
