The Ram 1500 pickup was introduced in the winter of 2010. Currently, the vehicle is being produced at the Stellantis corporation's assembly plant in North America, Michigan.

Initial Version

The 2010-debuted vehicle was a fourth-generation Dodge Ram pickup. The model name was spun off into a separate brand, which did not affect its appearance and technology. The vehicle retained a frame design and was distinguished by a wide variability in the use of components. It was offered in three wheelbase options and four cabs, some of which were only available for the 1500-series pickups. Another significant difference was the absence of springs in the rear suspension, which was replaced by a 5-link suspension with coil springs, a first in the model's history since the mid-1970s. Regardless of the trim level, the pickup was equipped with only gasoline engines, the most powerful of which was a 5.7-liter "V8" Hemi, allowing the pickup to tow a trailer weighing up to 4700 kg.

Second Generation

In 2018, the brand, by then under the control of the Stellantis corporation, introduced a pickup of the next generation. The previous model remained in production and was offered as the Ram 1500 Classic, with some modifications not available in the new pickup, primarily the 2-door cab version. The novelty was distinguished, first and foremost, by the exterior design of the front end, which acquired a more aerodynamically efficient shape. A significant innovation was the trim levels, the number of which was expanded, and their content differed, including interior design. Each trim level used different combinations of materials and color schemes. In technical terms, the vehicle retained only some of its kinship with its predecessor. The key difference was the frame, 98% of whose components were made of high-strength steel, allowing for a weight reduction of 45 kg. Overall, it "lost" 102 kg due to the use of lighter materials while maintaining payload capacity at the same level. The pickup can tow a trailer weighing up to 5780 kg and carry up to 1 ton in the bed. In addition to its low weight, this is largely due to the engine range. In particular, it retained the "base" 3.6-liter engine from its predecessor - a 305-hp Chrysler Pentastar V6 gasoline engine. However, it had a 12-hp starter-generator with a belt drive, which added 122 Nm of torque when starting from a standstill and generated electricity when braking, charging a lithium-ion battery located between the seats and the rear wall of the cab.

The most powerful modification features a 395-hp 5.7-liter V8 Hemi engine with a cylinder deactivation system when driving at a steady speed between 1000-3000 rpm. It also came with a traction starter-generator, but in a more powerful version, producing 16 hp and delivering up to 176 Nm to the crankshaft. In 2024, this power unit was replaced by a 3-liter Hurricane gasoline engine developed by Stellantis, an inline "six" with two turbochargers in two trim levels, producing 420 or 540 hp. Despite being an entry-level pickup in the lineup, it is structurally a light-duty truck, which necessitates specific requirements for the tires and wheels used.
