Volkswagen Lupo 1.4L manual transmission, gasoline. The tires overall pleased me, previously in winter on this car I only drove with studded tires (Matador and Cordiant were installed). The non-studded tires lose when starting on ice and on loose thawing snow (worse road grip). They brake better on wet and dry asphalt than studded tires, but on ice, the braking distance increases compared to studded tires, and when starting from a standstill on ice, they also lose to studded tires. I mainly drive in the city, so I chose non-studded tires. In terms of noise, there is a huge gap from studded tires. Handling is better than on studded tires on asphalt, but studded tires handle snowy "mush" much easier. On a snowy winter road, there is no significant difference in directional stability. On the highway on a snowy road when passing turns at temperatures from 0 to -10 degrees, it holds the road even better than studded tires. At low temperatures from -15 degrees and below, the difference with studded tires in the worse direction begins to be felt. That is, the moment of loss of traction between the tire and the road and the onset of skidding (slipping off the road) occurs earlier than with studded tires. In general, in the flow on highways at speeds up to 110 km/h, it stands confidently. It hums much quieter than studded tires, of course. In the city, it is generally much more comfortable to drive than on studded tires. It's not very suitable for the countryside. Without studded tires, it will be more difficult there.

Overall, the rubber is good, the tread is thick, I don't like studs in winter, since I mainly drive in the city on asphalt and can't stand the sound of the studs knocking.
