Tyre reviews Kormoran Stud 2. Страница 1 241

Wrapped a little. Started on asphalt and wet asphalt.
Noise is acceptable, holds the road well.
Now on ice and light snow - expected periodic shedding in turns, but held exactly to trajectory. Caught a car a couple of times, perfection doesn't exist. For its price, the tire is very pleasing, I consider the quality to be high. The studs are all in place, none have fallen off.- Vehicle:

I had no experience with this manufacturer before. Last summer, I bought a set of wheels with summer tires from an acquaintance. At first, I was skeptical. I thought, "What's this Serbian company?" and "What's Kormoran?" But the summer turned out to be incredibly good. Whether it's wet or dry asphalt (or if it's not there at all), there's always traction. It brakes and handles perfectly. There's no noise from it. As a result, when choosing winter tires, I had no questions.
I ordered a studded Kormoran Stud 2 on the Mosavtoshina website. The parameters are 215/55 R17. True, I slightly miscalculated and the tread slightly rubs against the fenders/wheel arches on uneven roads, but that's my mistake, so to speak...
Everything arrived quickly and in good condition. I never thought I'd appreciate almost all the characteristics with a 5 out of 5 rating. I even managed to take a trip on vacation last winter. The tire holds the road perfectly. There was only one issue - on snow, the braking distance increased slightly. And that, I think, is due to the fact that there was ice under the snow.
In the frost, it didn't become hard and didn't crack over the winter (I live in Noyabrsk, YANAO, where the temperature can drop to -45). The studs didn't wear off and remained in place. And this is considering I drove on icy roads and got stuck in snowbanks.
The tire is excellent. Especially considering the price/quality ratio. It's no different from top-of-the-line tires (which, in reality, haven't been different from the cheapest Chinese ones for a long time), so I definitely recommend buying it.
This year, I planned to get wider and lower-profile tires for the winter, but unfortunately, 225/45 R17 is not available on the website. Maybe they don't even produce it.
In general, to those who are in doubt - don't be))- Vehicle:

Haven't found better winter tires. They handle everywhere! The road holding is excellent. And yes, in frost they are soft and sticky to the touch. Driving in Karelia and Murmansk. I recommend
Regarding noise. Guys, either buy a premium car for a lot of money or make a tunnel )

The roads in the region are frozen asphalt, sometimes briefly covered with snow that the wind quickly blows away, and occasionally there's a layer of ice, mainly at the end of autumn before the minus temperatures set in.
About the tires: they start to lose grip in turns at 90 degrees, at a speed of 60-70 km/h, if the surface under the wheels is slippery (the ABS system works at full capacity). On the highway at a speed of 100-110 km/h, turns of 35-50 degrees, partially on asphalt, partially on ice - it skids a bit, but the ABS system doesn't engage, and the steering wheel corrects it. A couple of days ago, I encountered the following situation: snow had piled up, and I was driving on the highway, where two lanes merged into one, the right lane was almost clean asphalt, and the left lane was loose snow. There was a snowplow ahead of me, clearing the road and part of the shoulder. I was driving at 80-90 km/h, entered the left lane with loose snow, felt the car start to drift, but didn't change course, and didn't lose control. As a beginner driver (six months of experience), I sometimes make mistakes. I'll give a subjective assessment of the tires, and what I've described above is for you to analyze and draw conclusions about their performance.
I'll mention the noise - the studs do make a sound, of course. They clatter on the asphalt. My car is a 2021 model, and it has a noise reduction system. Next, I'll share my subjective impressions, having driven on these tires for 2-3 months. At speeds up to 60 km/h, I can hear the noise, but it's not deafening, and I barely notice it. At 60-100 km/h, I pay attention to it, but it's not overwhelming. Above 100 km/h, the noise starts to press on my ears, and I find it hard to drive on the highway with music, so I turn it off.
By the way, about the "chickens" (a colloquial term for the small studs on winter tires): I did the running-in process, driving around 300-400 km at speeds up to 60-70 km/h without any complications. Then I also braked on asphalt and ice, and so far, all the studs are in place.
To sum up my impression: considering the cost, I'd give it a solid five.

Good product. Recommended. There is noise but it is acceptable. Tires are of good quality, tread holds well. April 14 - I have not changed the tire yet. All studs are in place.

In the middle of winter, I had to change my tires. I chose these tires based on their design and tread pattern. The tires are quiet, which is unusual for studded tires. On clean asphalt, if I happen to encounter it in the winter, I drive carefully on the studs, and the braking, handling, and control are normal, both on dry and wet asphalt. On snow, these wheels behave like scoops (if anyone understands what I'm talking about), they clear everything wherever possible. They perfectly hold a controlled skid in a turn.
On the road (ice under the snow) there are also no complaints about driving in any permissible style. Confident acceleration, overtaking, directional stability, controlled skid, braking. I'm satisfied with the purchase and the comfort in everyday winter driving has noticeably increased.

In the summer, I had a flat tire, drove into a tire shop, and asked the master what tires to get for winter. I met the guy for the first time, he's about 45-50 years old, with experience in tires. He says, "Take 'Kormoran'", and I'm like, what's that? He says Kormoran is the same as Michelin, just cheaper. I think, well, I'll take it, I have a Lacetti 1.4 hatchback. This is the best winter tire I've had. I've driven on Hakkapeliitta, on Bridgestone, and this one is the quietest and most manageable. You can't even hear the studs. I drive city - highway, on the highway at 90-130. It handles perfectly, holds the road superbly. I recommend it to everyone. I bought it for around 3800 per wheel.

Mounted these tires on an Accord 8. Sidewall grip is good. In the snow, a confident average performer. For the price, better than the competition.

I installed KIA OPTIMA wheels. I went to Crimea from Moscow and back in the winter. Overall, the impression is good, taking into account the price. It holds well on ice. The thing I liked least is its behavior on snowy slush, the very strong swerving, although, probably, this would be the case with any tire. After 6700 km, all studs are still in place. I accelerated to 170 km/h on them and they held the road confidently.
