SUV class tires. Comfort or passability?

When choosing a crossover or SUV, many car owners automatically attribute high off-road capabilities to it. This is done, of course, in vain, since cars of this class are usually less comfortable than sedans and other passenger cars due to their high mass and large cabin space. With such parameters, the usual road and tire noise becomes noticeably louder.

What's left for automakers, then? Of course, to install the most comfortable tires. After all, most cars of this class are purchased due to practicality or other aesthetic preferences, but not for conquering off-road terrain. Comfortable tires, in this case, have minimal off-road capabilities. It is here that a silent misunderstanding arises between car enthusiasts and automakers.

It should be taken into account that most automakers initially install tires with a calculation for 100% road use, with a maximum level of comfort and a minimum level of off-road capabilities. If you want to increase off-road characteristics, you should change the tires to a less road-oriented ratio of 70/30 or even 50/50. But in this case, you should not be surprised by the sharply increased level of noise in the cabin from the more massive tread pattern.
