United Cordiant plant in Omsk
22 june 2012
The company "Cordiant" has announced the merger of two plants in Omsk into a single production cycle. The new enterprise will be based on the production site of "Omskishina" and Cordiant-Vostok LLC (formerly "Matador-Omskishina").
The share in the latter was acquired by the Cordiant holding from Continental AG (Germany). As the regional government's press service reports, this was done in order to launch a single production cycle at the enterprise.
Recall that the separation of the Omskishina tire plant occurred twenty years ago, when two plants were formed: one retained the name "Omskishina", and the second was named "Matador-Omskishina". The latter became owned by Continental. However, as a result of a recent deal, the Matador-Omskishina plant was acquired, and both enterprises will again be merged into a single structure. The terms of the deal are not disclosed.
The press service also reports that by 2014, it is planned to increase the capacity of the merged enterprise to eight million car tires per year.
