21 november 2012
The Japanese corporation Bridgestone has revealed its plans for the coming years. In a statement, the company says it aims to become the sole leader in the tire and rubber industry. To do this, it needs to oust the French company Michelin from its imaginary throne. To achieve this, Bridgestone has revamped its organizational structure. Following this, tasks and corporate philosophy were defined.

In particular, it was noted that now, in a time of unstable economy, a critical moment has come for intensifying management reforms. But the second stage of reform will still take place. The first, recall, was six years ago. According to company specialists, this will be done in order to ensure the company's best response to changes in the economic situation. Additionally, the corporation plans to further increase its profits through business expansion.

Another area of activity for Bridgestone will be a change in production: a transition is planned from fossil resources to renewable raw materials. As for the product range, there will also be new products, in particular, airless tires or tires made without the use of petroleum products.

Sales volumes are planned to be increased by five percent annually. This will allow the corporation to take the leading position in the world in terms of revenue in the near future.

Finally, the financial aspect of the issue was also announced. Thus, annual investment volumes will amount to $3.2 billion, which is exactly a quarter more than what was invested in it in recent years.
