A similar effect is observed when driving during thaws. In the shoulder areas, the walls of the drainage channels have a saw-toothed shape, crushing the snow mass and ensuring its faster removal from the tread.

The entire central part of the tread represents a very wide longitudinal rib of a tapered shape. This element is continuous throughout its length, which, in combination with its massiveness, provides the tire with increased directional stability and stable behavior at high speeds.
