The Pirelli PZero Winter ELT winter tire is a special version of the popular same-name model for dynamic passenger cars. The key difference from the "original" is the use of a rubber compound in the production of the tread, which after the end of the tire's life cycle is guaranteed to be suitable for secondary recycling and use in various industries.
One of the distinctive features of the tire is its excellent longitudinal grip on snow. This is largely due to the presence in the inner shoulder area of an asymmetric tread with numerous transverse drainage grooves and lamellas. The multidirectional sharp edges formed by them allow the tire to effectively grip the snowy surface.
The two rows of square blocks located in the center of the tread, due to their increased stiffness, increase the directional stability and accuracy of handling. Their effectiveness is maintained on wet pavement, thanks to the presence of three wide and deep longitudinal drainage grooves around them.
The design of the outer shoulder area is characterized by the presence of massive blocks turned across. Their trapezoidal shape in side projection allows for precise control of the vehicle's trajectory on dry surfaces and prevents it from skidding during dynamic maneuvers.
