The summer tire Pirelli PZero GEN-2 was created to replace the namesake model, which has been produced with virtually no changes since 2007. The novelty surpasses its predecessor in almost all operational properties, which was not easy to do, given the "target audience" of the tire. It still consists of the most powerful modifications of modern passenger cars.
Two versions of execution
Under one name, the Italian manufacturer actually offers two models. One is designed for sports cars, and the other is for premium-class sedans. The differences lie in the operational properties, which are more pronounced depending on the version of the tire. The tire for premium sedans is distinguished by a softer ride, improved acoustic comfort, and for sports cars - the corresponding handling and traction. The differences are ensured exclusively due to the features of the tread design and the composition of the rubber mixture.
Resistance to aquaplaning
Both versions are distinguished by high resistance to aquaplaning. It is provided due to the efficiency of the drainage system. The tread is equipped with a large number of water-removing grooves, and each of these elements has a significant volume.
Chassis from sports tires
When developing the tire, technologies used by the Italian manufacturer in tires for road-racing were used. One of such solutions is the design of the chassis. It is made of synthetic materials, which, together with progressive winding technologies, provides this element with high strength and low weight. Above it is a breaker. Synthetic fibers in its cord are arranged longitudinally, which significantly improves the transmission of lateral forces to the steering wheel, thereby ensuring quickness and accuracy in response to the driver's actions.
