The Nokian NRC2 summer tire is designed for use in commercial vans operating on the so-called "last mile". It is characterized by "passenger car" stability and handling on dry and wet surfaces, increased durability and resistance to mechanical stress, fuel efficiency, and smooth ride.
The tread pattern features massive elements distributed across four wide longitudinal ribs. This design, on the one hand, increases the size of the contact patch with the road surface, and on the other hand, promotes a more even distribution of pressure across it, which has a positive effect not only on traction and handling but also on resistance to abrasive wear and fuel consumption. Another feature of the pattern is the presence, in addition to longitudinal, of transverse serpentine grooves in the central part. These elements further reduce the risk of aquaplaning, maintaining high reliability of handling on wet surfaces. It is worth noting the numerous lamellas along the edges of the tread. These slits, due to their design, have an extended functionality. In addition to water evacuation during maneuvering, these elements significantly reduce the uneven wear of the tread, giving the tire an additional smoothness.
Key features of Nokian NRC2:
- massive longitudinal ribs reduce wear and fuel consumption, improving traction on dry surfaces and giving the tire a "passenger car" handling character;
- serpentine grooves in the central part enhance the tire's resistance to hydroplaning;
- lamellas along the edges of the tread pattern reduce uneven wear, giving additional smoothness to the ride;
- reinforced carcass and special rubber compound increase the tire's mileage during intensive operation with high weight loads
