Nokian Hakka Black 2 SUV – a 2018 novelty, positioned as a tire for summer use, belonging to the UHP class. The model is designed for installation on SUVs and crossovers used in Northern European countries. For this purpose, it is equipped with an asymmetric tread pattern, which allows for maximum safety while driving in various weather conditions.
In terms of its tread pattern, the tire is similar to the Nokian Hakka Black 2 model for passenger cars, but has a number of additions. Firstly, it is a reinforced carcass, in which additional aramid fibers were used. Secondly, these are side walls of increased strength. All this makes it possible to use the tire on heavy vehicles, significantly reducing the risk of ruptures and damage when driving on various road surfaces.
Tread pattern specification
This model features an asymmetric tread pattern, which provides two characteristics: improved handling, expressed in a sensitive response to steering wheel rotation, and increased comfort. The outer tread lugs have small notches that are responsible for handling in any conditions. The inner part contains blocks that provide stability during straight-line movement, including on uneven roads.

The novelty is also equipped with a system that protects against aquaplaning. This is the Hydro Canyon Grooves, which is a multitude of conical grooves located on the central ribs of rigidity. They were developed using modern computer systems, thanks to which they effectively perform their functions. Their smooth inner surface, as well as connections with large channels, provides instant water mass diversion, contributing to the preservation of traction with the road surface. This also affects handling, maintaining its level in any conditions.
Silent Groove
Another innovation is the Silent Groove system, which is a special design of longitudinal ribs with hemispherical cavities. They contribute to the redirection of air flows, minimizing sound effects. This achieves maximum driving comfort, including when driving on uneven roads.
In addition to acoustic comfort, this system reduces the heat level of the tire during driving, thereby increasing its service life.
Features of the rubber compound
Finnish developers used a new polymer blend, the molecular structure of which is characterized by its density. This factor had a positive effect on the tire's resistance to various damages, the duration of its mileage, and the improvement of its traction properties.
