When the wheel rotates, the stepped edges work like blades, cutting through the water layer, and then direct the water into deep transverse and longitudinal grooves. Thanks to the optimized step design of the tread and special noise-absorbing inserts in the compound structure, the level of internal noise is reduced to levels comparable to those of premium passenger car tyres.
