Two-layer tread

One of the features of this model is the presence of a two-layer tread. The lower base layer is made of a rubber compound with increased stiffness and reduced heat generation. It provides improved handling and, at the same time, reduces fuel consumption. In turn, the outer layer of the tread is made of a more elastic compound, which mainly consists of silica. In addition to it, its composition includes special elastomers that provide optimal elasticity over a very wide temperature range and, at the same time, prevent premature wear.

Improved V-shaped design

The V-shaped design of the tread, which is mainly used on winter models, was applied to this tire. It is characterized by the presence of many very long gripping edges formed not only by blocks but also by lamellas cut into them, which, thanks to the three-dimensional construction of the walls, have wide functionality.

The presence of numerous and multidirectional protrusions on the lamella walls, when contacting the road, not only fixes them in the open position but also limits the mobility of the blocks. As a result, the contact patch receives many gripping edges, and the increased stiffness of the tread improves handling.

In addition, it is impossible not to note the complex geometric shape of the gripping edges formed by the blocks and lamellas. When contacting the road, they create a "claw effect", thanks to which the tire demonstrates increased traction on snow and ice.
