Description Metzeler Racetec SM Rain
The Metzeler Racetec SM Rain motorcycle tire is designed for bikes used in supermoto circuit racing. It represents a special version of the same-name tire, distinguished by improved grip properties on wet pavement.
Compared to the "original", this version differs, first of all, in the design of the tread pattern. For the front tire, it is a combination of a solid longitudinal rib in the middle and numerous blocks on the edges, and for the rear tire, it is the presence of blocks only. In both cases, this solution provides high intensity of excess moisture drainage from under the tire, which ensures more confident grip on wet pavement. Another difference from the standard version is the use of a special rubber compound, the composition of which is largely represented by "silica" and polymeric compounds. This compound heats up much faster to "operating" temperatures, even on cold asphalt, and is characterized by increased elasticity in these conditions.
Key features of Metzeler Racetec SM Rain
- tread pattern with a large number of blocks and grooves provides confident grip on wet pavement;
- improved rubber compound that heats up quickly at low ambient temperatures and remains elastic in such conditions;
- optimized tread profile provides ease of handling and stability at the most aggressive bike lean angles
