The Kormoran SUV Snow winter tire is one of the novelties of the Polish brand. Like other models, it was developed by Michelin specialists. A distinctive feature of the model is the absence of spikes. Nevertheless, it demonstrates reliable coupling properties on slippery surfaces. This is ensured by a set of technical solutions, including various features of the tread pattern and the physical and chemical properties of the compound. In addition, a studded model with a similar tread was presented at the same time as this tire.

Increased number of coupling edges

The tread pattern of the tire is characterized by the presence of a large number of coupling edges. The overwhelming majority of them are formed by numerous lamellas. The high density of these elements is ensured by the polygonal shape of the sidewalls. When contacting the road surface, this allows the lamellas to remain in an open position and limit the mobility of the tread blocks. As a result, the coupling properties are not only enhanced but also become more stable.

Updated compound

Another innovation of the model was the composition of the rubber mixture of the tread. It is distinguished by an increased content of silica. Thanks to this, the tire does not become "hard" even in strong frosts, ensuring close contact with the road surface and adhesion to it.

Reinforced carcass

The tire was initially developed for crossovers and SUVs, which is why it has much better reliability than many similar models from other brands. One of the advantageous differences from them is the presence of a double carcass. The additional steel cord significantly increases the tire's carrying capacity and resistance to impact effects.
