Gislaved One W — studded winter tyre for passenger cars and crossovers. The model opens a new line of the brand and is the company's own development of the "Cordiant" holding, created by specialists of the "Intair" Research and Development Centre. Its design is calculated to combine grip on ice and snow with stability and acoustic comfort during everyday city and highway driving. Production is organized at enterprises in Kaluga and Ulyanovsk.
The tread has a directional layout with a V-shaped arrangement of individual blocks. Diagonal grooves gradually expand towards the shoulder areas, freeing the contact patch from water and wet snow. A large number of wavy cuts forms a dense lamellar network. Active lamellas are designed to increase stability on dry winter asphalt and when cornering, supplementing the work of the open tread pattern on a snowy road.
The studding system forms 18 rows, focused in the most loaded areas of the contact patch. The Finnish stud has a multilateral construction with additional engagement edges, and the shape of its flange is calculated to counteract tilting and rotation in the mounting seat. To retain the studs, fixation by hot vulcanization is used.
The multicomponent rubber compound is calculated to maintain elasticity at very low temperatures. The elasticity of the compound helps the tread to maintain its working properties in frosty weather. The combination of a directional tread pattern, studding, and frost-resistant compound is designed for operation on ice, snow, snowmash, and cold asphalt.
The size range of Gislaved One W covers fitment diameters from 16 to 22 inches. It includes versions for both passenger cars and large crossovers.
