The Gislaved ArcticControl winter tire is designed for use in regions with truly cold climates. To a large extent, the model repeats the popular Continental VikingContact 7, which until recently was distinguished by excellent traction properties on any snowy and icy roads in the background of most "classmates".

The tread pattern is distinguished by a rhomboid shape of the blocks in the central part. This solution allows the elements to partially overlap each other, which increases the contact patch, ensures an even distribution of pressure over it, ensuring the stability of traction properties in any driving mode and makes it easier to control the trajectory of the car. Another significant advantage of this layout is a significant reduction in abrasive impact on the tread, which increases its service life. Along with the unidirectional edges of the blocks, the reliability of adhesion on snowy and icy surfaces is achieved due to the numerous edges of the lamellas. The "three-dimensional" profile of their walls made it possible to maintain the high rigidity of the blocks, ensuring the possibility of dense Notching.
