Dunlop SP Sport 8000 – a sports-type model that can be installed on a wide range of passenger cars, including SUVs and crossovers. The tire was developed in cooperation with Porsche specialists, making it perfect for high-speed driving on dry asphalt. It provides refined handling, a high level of vehicle stabilization during maneuvers, and an extended service life.
The creation of the tire used technologies used for racing models. This was reflected in the improvement of dynamic properties and an increase in the level of control over the vehicle. The directional tread with pronounced symmetry is equipped with a medium-sized solid rib in the center with small lateral notches. Made from a more rigid compound, it perfectly withstands increased loads and provides increased maneuverability. The presence of centrifugal-type grooves also effectively protects against hydroplaning and maintains the efficiency of traction on wet asphalt.
The manufacturer applied the MFS technology in the model, which provided increased resistance to mechanical damage caused by curbs or wheel falls into potholes. To this should be added reinforced sidewalls that neutralize the deformation effect, including at high-speed modes. The combination of these aspects guarantees the maintenance of a high level of control even when driving on poor road surfaces.
Kevlar layers were used in the carcass, which had a positive effect on reducing the overall weight of the tire, optimizing the dynamic properties of the vehicle. In addition, the use of a seamless nylon cord increased resistance to damage and improved ride comfort. This should be added to the compound with silicon dioxide, which not only effectively resists wear but also helps to suppress small vibrations, preventing their transmission to the cabin.
