Unique SNOW-COR technology for creating a tread
The directional tread pattern has an unusual design - diverging rays from the center. This pattern of the Cordiant Snow Cross quickly removes snow and water from the tread, providing excellent self-cleaning, preventing the risk of slushplaning. The closed edge in the center of the tread quickly cuts through snow, and the opening grooves in the shoulder area increase the traction characteristics with the road surface. Special transverse channels and elongated blocks create closed cavities, reducing the braking distance to a minimum on any surface. A large number of z-shaped lamellas form sufficiently sharp edges, which provides excellent grip on ice. The anchor-type two-flange spike, having the shape of a snowflake (the core is made of a hard material), prevents wheel slippage during acceleration.
Two-layer tire construction
The used two-layer tread construction allowed improving the ride quality of the tire. The upper layer is made of softer rubber, which increased the traction characteristics. The inner, more rigid layer allowed for a more even distribution of pressure inside the tread, preventing uneven wear and increasing stability.
COR-FIX rubber compound
The use of the updated COR-FIX rubber compound with a new silica content increased the restoring properties of the tread and improved traction on icy surfaces. The applied silicon increased the service life of the tread, as it increased the wear-resistant qualities of the rubber.
