Innovative Profile
One of the key innovations in this model was the tread profile, which was largely borrowed from racing tires for the "ring". In addition to this, a pattern reminiscent of a golf ball cover was applied to the edges of the tread. This solution made it possible to significantly reduce air resistance, which had a positive effect not only on the noise level but also noticeably reduced rolling resistance.
Noise-Reducing Grooves
This model was one of the first to use Silent Pattern technology. The essence of the innovation lies in the use of special grooves that significantly reduce the noise generated by the tire when rolling, especially when driving on worn asphalt pavement. These elements are distinguished by a special design that, due to the re-reflection of sound waves, significantly weakens them, thereby reducing the so-called "road" noise. The additional efficiency of these grooves is ensured by their optimized location, with a certain offset relative to each other.
Improved Rubber Compound
Another important feature of the tire was the use of the Green Chili rubber compound of the third iteration in its manufacture. It is characterized by a composition based on natural rubber and silicon dioxide, as well as a complex of special polymers that, depending on the driving mode, activate certain molecular chains, providing optimal tread elasticity. In particular, when driving at a constant high speed, this compound reduces rolling resistance and, with it, fuel consumption, and when braking, making the tire more gripping, it provides increased traction. This rubber compound is distinguished by improved resistance to abrasive wear compared to the previous model.
